Bellinzona is probably the most Italian town in
Switzerland. The skyline of the capital of Ticino is defined by
a triad of medieval castles-fortresses among the best preserved
in Switzerland and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Castles of Bellinzona (Castle Grande – in photos, Montebello
and Sasso Corbaro) are among the finest examples of medieval
fortification in the Alps.
Bellinzona is about 45 km from Porlezza.
